Multimodal Knowledge: Beyond Boundaries
Multimodal literacies in the classroom
From the beginning of this course you have been required to be attentive to the ways in which you learn about and through multimodal literacies. In the previous pages of this lesson, you should have experimented with orientating yourself within multimodal literacies.
To end this lesson, we now invite you to read two milestone articles on teaching and multimodal literacies.
- Walsh, Maureen. 2010. “Multimodal Literacy: What Does It Mean for Classroom Practice?,” Australian Journal of Language and Literacy, 33 (3): 211–39. https://www.alea.edu.au/documents/item/63 (last accessed on 02/12/17)
- Clement, Tanya. 2012. “Multiliteracies in the Undergraduate Digital Humanities Curriculum: Skills, Principles, and Habits of Mind.” In Digital Humanities Pedagogy: Practices, Principles and Politics, B. Hirsch, 365–88. Open Book Publishers. http://books.openedition.org/obp/1656 (last accessed on 02/12/17)
Once you have read the two above articles, you will be ready to go to the final assignment of Unit II.
