Augmented Reality (AR) for Digital Humanities.

This course will take you on a journey through the use of technology for the Humanities! Welcome to Digital Humanities!

  • The first unit of this module will introduce you to the concepts of cultural heritage and identity and help you explore the role of digital technologies in experiencing ancient artefacts and sites from different cultures.
  • The second unit will take you to the world of Intercultural Communication and Digital Skills.
  • The third unit will show you what AR can do when curated by a team of skilled developers to represent both topics presented in Units 1 and 2.
  • The fourth unit will be a technical one and show you how to create digital elements from scratch, without any prior knowledge, using open source and/or free-to-use software to create 3D objects from photos, using Chroma Key compositing (commonly known as "Greenscreen") and AR on your phones.
