1.2.3 The relation between frames, ideas and concepts
The definitions of frame, idea, concept, and design become more clear by showing what the relation is between them. In the figure below you see how in the process of design thinking - devising plans of action to turn an existing situation into a preferred one - a frame turns into ideas, ideas become concepts, and in time results in the 'final' design that depicts the intended outcome.
It is interesting to note that as this process develops, the problem and solution co-evolves. As a result, the problem becomes more clear when you try to solve it. Consequently, the problem is reframed again and again while it becomes clearer how to solve it and what the nitty-gritty details are.
