2.1 The #dariahTeach Philosophy

2.1.1 Quality - Consistency - Educational value

The #dariahTeach philosophy centers around three concepts: quality, consistency, and educational value. Through a process of theoretical discussions, understanding user requirements and aiming to adhere to quality assurance, these concepts were transformed into goals. They define the key quality characteristics that govern not only the #dariahTeach platform, but also the courses integrated into the platform. The following video outlines the characteristics that a course should have to align to the platform’s philosophy.

As Angelica and Eliza mention, the #dariahTeach quality Benchmark Cycle defines the key quality criteria of the platform. This ensures that the courses published in #dariahTeach are adhering to the platform’s quality which includes:

  1. Extensible, open source and shareable content;
  2. Asynchronous and flexible learning;
  3. Easily localised and personalised learning environments;
  4. Multilingual educational materials;
  5. Diverse and multimodal content across multiple disciplines;
  6. Educational materials of diverse complexity;
  7. Use and reuse at different levels and modalities of education;
  8. Iterative tests in living teaching environments.
